She Wants You to Buy Her Plants
Are you trying to figure out what you give your mom this Mother’s Day?
She wants you to buy her plants!
Every year I give my mom a tray of pink Impatiens and she LOVES it. It has become a yearly tradition we both enjoy and look forward too! (and no more stressing over what to give mom!)
There are two great ways to gift your mom plants this year:
Make a day of plant shopping together! Let her choose her own plants and enjoy time together (grab a cup of fancy coffee on your way to shop!) Our Mother’s Day Weekend plant sale is May 9 from 10am-12pm and we’d LOVE to meet you and your mom there!
Choose plants for her and ‘dress them up’ as a surprise gift.
Both options are amazing.
Here’s are some ideas on how to give plants as amazing gifts your mom will LOVE:
1. Choose a plant.
All types of plants make great gifts! But here are a few helpful considerations for choosing the right one!
For the mom who loves to cook: All types of herbs including Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, Mint and Basil.
For the mom with a garden: all types of herbs and vegetable plants.
For mom who just grows a flowerpot or two: Pansies, Marigolds, Coleus, Sweet Alyssum and Petunias.
For mom who loves to tend flowerbeds: Perennials like Echinacea, Coreopsis, Yarrow and Hardy Hibiscus, or annuals like marigolds, coleus, and so much more!
For the cut flower lover: Eucalyptus, Zinnias, Yarrow, Bunny Tails and Echinacea are amazing choices.

2. Gift ‘wrap’ the plant.
There are lots of cute options for wrapping or dressing up a plant to give it as a gift. Here are just a few ideas to get your creativity flowing!
Use a brown paper lunch bag, roll down the top, place the pot inside and add ribbon or twine to secure the bag and dress it up!
Use gift wrap, paper, newspaper, etc. to ‘wrap’ the pot, leaving the corners standing upright, or folding them down, to create different looks. Add ribbon or twine to hold the paper in place.
Use a decorative pot and set the plastic pot inside it, or repot the plant into the decorative pot.
Wrap the pot in cute fabric and secure with twine and a bow.
Purchase plain terracotta pots and allow kids to decorate them with paint or stickers.
3. Include a plant care tag.
Create a cute plant tag that includes who the plant is from, who the plant is for, the name of the plant and some basic care instructions. Cut out squares, circles, or heart shapes of cardstock and punch a hole in one corner, write out the information and attach it to the pot with twine.
4. Deliver the plant in person with a cup of coffee.
Plants are best delivered in person to ensure they arrive safely and for the moment to be enjoyed by both the giver and the recipient.
Bring along a cup of coffee, tea or a special treat too!
