Grow More, Weed Less: A No-Dig Gardening Workshop
May 23, 2026 from 9am-10am
Want to grow more food with less weeding, healthier soil, and fewer gardening frustrations?
I’m inviting you into my own garden for a hands-on, in-person workshop where you’ll learn the simple yet powerful principles of no-dig gardening that have made my garden enjoyable and extremely productive.
I’ll share exactly how you can start your own thriving garden so you can enjoy abundant food this season.
Perfect for beginner and intermediate gardeners, this workshop will equip you to start a brand-new garden OR improve your current garden space.
This 1-hour workshop will walk you through the real-life methods and tools I use in my own garden to grow healthy plants while reducing weeds and unnecessary work.
During the workshop, you’ll learn:
How no-dig gardening works
How to have healthier soil + plants = healthier people
How to start new garden beds without tilling (and what to do about weeds since you won’t be tilling them in)
The exact materials and tools I use
Simple strategies to prevent and manage weeds
How to set up a productive garden step-by-step
Practical tips you can immediately use at home
This is not a lecture in a classroom — we will be in my garden. I’ll demonstrate real methods and tools, we’ll probably munch on some veggies and you can ask questions (that’s why I’m limiting the number of attendees, I want to be able to address your specific garden journey).
You’ll leave feeling inspired and equipped to grow confidently this season.
You will also receive:
Printed take-home handouts and
One plant to take home ($5 value)
Workshop Details
Date: May 23, 2026
Time: 9am-10am
Cost: $10 per person
Location: My garden located at 7447 S. Eagle Valley Road, Port Matilda, PA 16870
Seating will be available at picnic tables but for the best experience participants should be comfortable walking through the garden and standing for up to 45 minutes. If you need other accommodations or have questions about accessibility, please call 814-441-8208 or email abbie@theheirloomfarmer.com
Recommended for ages 12+ (for younger gardeners, please see our children’s workshop on May 30, 2026)
Rain date will be May 30, 2026
Additional plants will be available for purchase at our greenhouse following the workshop.
Whether you’re starting your very first garden or looking for a simpler, more natural way to grow, this workshop will give you practical knowledge, inspiration, and confidence to get growing. Plus, we get to spend a Saturday morning in my garden together!
